Work With Us

Diversification and New Developments in the boutique and experiential sector require a considered business model, and potential return on investment within the context of creative direction.

This requires a holistic approach, looking at all influencing factors to evaluate how best to develop the business and create an amazing experience for customers. Devising experiential business models and unique selling points are my particular field of speciality.

I can support diversification projects for rural businesses such as greenfield sites, hotels, holiday parks, resorts, country houses & estates, and farms.

The following outlines how we could work together.

Every project is unique with different requirements, goals and constraints, so whilst there is an overriding process to my support, every phone consultation and site survey is tailored to individual needs. My involvement tends to take the following path:

  • 1. Initial phone call or video meeting. We usually start with a telephone or video call to discuss your ideas and the project in question.
  • 2. Site Survey. If you wish to explore the project potential in more detail, I would visit the site in question.
  • 3. Ongoing Project Support. Choose pre-set hours, or a bespoke package can be created.

1. Initial Phone Call or Video Meeting

Let’s have an initial talk through your ideas, the project’s potential and apparent constraints, and establish if my support could assist the project.

It’s helpful to have some background information on an existing business, or if a new development, the location and business model you may be considering.

There is no fee for an initial phone call or video meeting, and there are no obligations.

    2. Site Visits

To progress a project it’s essential to visit the business or proposed location. Every site appraisal is different however they usually include some or all of the following:

    • For an existing business: Current performance review and how it might be improved: business development / cost savings / design make-over / review of business model / expansion.
    • For a new business: Exploration of the business model, USP, target demographics, potential structures (& costs) & facilities.
    • How unused outbuildings might be developed and utilised within the scope of site development.
    • If possible, an indication of revenues and return on investment.

Site visits are charged at a reasonable fee according to duration + travel expenses.

    3. Ongoing Support

Ongoing, flexible consultancy advice and project support are provided according to each project’s needs.

This can be a short to long term package, or ad-hoc charged per hour.

For new design and build developments, where a project progresses through Morel & Co, a commensurate package of consultancy support is automatically inclusive.

As a matter of course, discretion is assured from the first point of contact. All conversations and correspondence are treated as private & confidential.

    Feedback and Testimonials

A great deal of experience which helped us a great deal when we were battling through planning permission wars during our early stages. We had our hearts set on a less than straightforward site and had various issues to combat over a period of 10 months. Kate’s advice was really helpful and practical and gave us incentive and encouragement to carry on working towards our dream site. We eventually did achieve planning permission and this meant we were able to buy our perfect home and business adjacent to each other. We have since worked flat out setting up the glamping and absolutely love our set up. Kate always was and is at the end of the phone if we need advice and help.

“We just wanted to pass on our thanks for the time you spent with us and the knowledge, advice and experience imparted. We found your visit hugely useful allowing us to start to drill down on the numbers and the type of structure we should be looking to build.”

We thankfully stumbled across Kate in our search to find out more about starting a glamping business. After listening to our plans and ideas with what we felt could be hurdles to overcome, she has given us some very good advice and unlocked her address book of many valuable contacts to use, we feel this will help us to save time and money as we get out feet off the ground. She has a lot of creativity and is full of enthusiasm and we will be working with Kate in the future as we plan to develop and grow the business.

“Just wanted to say a very big thank you for all your helpful advice and positive input. We will definitely be following up on all the tips you have given us to increase our direct bookings, Your knowledge, creativity, enthusiasm, and practical approach were such a boost to us as we felt we had lost our motivation and direction, but you have put us back on the right path to make our business really work for us and be a success. I would have no hesitation in recommending your services to anyone who wishes to improve their business, once again thank you.”

It is rare to come across someone in business like Kate. She is warm, likeable and extremely knowledgeable. We contacted Kate to discuss our initial ideas for a new business that will offer blacksmith and crafting experiences. There was an immediate rapport between us, and from the go she gave us so many leads, insights, ideas, and contacts. The advise was encouraging but realistic.  You really believe she has a genuine interest in your business and she clearly loves what she does.  She’s a key part of our project, and we can’t recommend her enough.

In an industry that, in my opinion, tends to keep its focus too sharply on qualitative data it was great to have some much needed focus on the numbers in your session at The Glamping Show today – thank you!
